HYATCS: The Online Condenser Tube Cleaning System That Pays for Itself

A continuous, automatic ball-cleaning loop keeps your condenser tubes fouling-free — no shutdown, no manual brushing — while you cut chiller energy use 10–30% and recover the investment in 1–3 years.

What Is HYATCS?

HYATCS (HongYue Automatic Tube Cleaning System) is an online condenser tube cleaning system that keeps heat-exchanger tubes clean by running specially sized cleaning balls through them in a continuous, automated loop — while your chiller or turbine keeps running.

Instead of shutting down to descale, HYATCS prevents fouling from ever hardening. A microcomputer controls ball injection, capture, and return on a set cycle. The result: the condenser stays close to its original design performance, year after year, with no manual brushing and no production interruption.

The one-line pitch: HYATCS turns condenser cleaning from a disruptive maintenance event into an invisible, automatic background process — and the energy savings pay for the system in 1–3 years.

Why Fouling Is Quietly Burning Your Energy

Condenser tubes are constantly exposed to cooling water that carries biological growth, algae, slime, mud, and fine sediment. Even a thin layer of deposit insulates the tube wall and forces the compressor or turbine to work harder for the same cooling output.

  • Lower heat transfer — fouling raises the condenser pressure and approach temperature.
  • Higher energy draw — every 1°C of approach-temperature rise costs roughly 4% more energy.
  • Faster degradation — soft deposits harden into scale that later needs chemical or mechanical removal.

HYATCS stops the problem at the source: by wiping tubes before deposits set, it holds the best achievable heat-exchange efficiency continuously.

How HYATCS Works — In Motion

Watch the cleaning balls travel the loop: launched into the condenser water inlet, driven through the tubes to scrub the walls, trapped at the outlet, and returned to the launcher to repeat — hands-free, around the clock.

One System, Three Configurations

HYATCS is engineered around your condenser, not the other way around. Three mounting options cover both new builds and retrofits.

Cover-Mounted

Launcher sits on the condenser head for direct, tube-to-tube ball handling. Cleanest routing for new equipment.

Pipeline Type

Launcher plus an inline trap, independent of the chiller head — the standard choice for retrofit projects.

Cover-Integrated

Compact, fully integrated design that minimises footprint and installation work.

The Nano-Silicone Advantage

The cleaning ball is the heart of the system. HYATCS uses our nano-silicone balls — a core upgrade over standard rubber balls that lets the system clean where ordinary balls cannot.

Specification Standard rubber balls HYATCS nano-silicone balls
Temperature range 0–80°C 0–200°C
Sizing precision 1–2 mm 0.1 mm
Tube compatibility Smooth tubes Scrubs internal-thread tubes via mesh surface
Service life Limited ~3000 run-hours
Density Fixed Customizable per site

The finer sizing and mesh surface mean HYATCS reaches tubes that defeat conventional cleaning — a real differentiator for demanding water quality and threaded-tube designs.

For Lithium-Bromide (Absorption) Chillers

Absorption chillers often pair mismatched absorber and condenser tube sizes, which defeats ordinary ball systems. The HYATCS LiBr version uses differential-pressure, unpowered ball handling: balls are matched and recovered by size to prevent jamming — fully automatic, no shutdown, cooling never stops. Across Southeast Asia it typically saves 110–30% on these units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cleaning require a shutdown?

No. HYATCS operates online — the condenser stays in service throughout every cleaning cycle.

Will the balls damage tubes?

No. Properly sized balls wipe the wall without contacting tube material; titanium and copper-alloy tubes are both supported.

How often are balls replaced?

Typically after ~3000 run-hours or one cooling season, or when worn to the gauge limit.

Can it be retrofitted?

Yes. The Pipeline-Type configuration is designed for limited on-site piping work, often during a planned maintenance window.
