ATCS for Thailand’s Cold Chain and Food Plants

Thai cold storage and food processing plants run compressors and process chillers through a long hot season. A cooling lapse here means spoiled stock, not just a higher electricity bill.

The Operating Reality

Refrigerated warehouses and food plants cool blast freezers, process chillers and compressor condensers through shell-and-tube exchangers on cooling towers.

Why It Matters Here

Compressors run continuously, so end-difference creep of about 1 C adds about 4% compressor work every day of the year. In a hot season the ambient lift makes that penalty larger, and the cost of an interruption is spoiled product.

Local Conditions That Drive Fouling

  • Hot season ambient pushes condensing temperatures up, so the same fouling layer removes more margin than in a mild climate.
  • Blast freezers and cold rooms are temperature-critical, so a fouling-driven capacity dip is a direct product risk.
  • Online cleaning with no shutdown fits plants that cannot afford a refrigeration outage for maintenance.

How Automatic Tube Cleaning (ATCS) Fits

  • Sponge balls (DN100-500 compatible, 0.1 mm oversize) circulate every chiller cycle, sweeping tubes with no shutdown.
  • End-difference is held near ~1.2 °C instead of drifting to 3 °C+, avoiding the ~4% per 1 °C compressor penalty.
  • Continuous sweeping removes the biofilm layer (up to ~300× more insulating than a clean tube) rather than reacting after a deposit forms.
  • Systems are sized to tube count and metallurgy — titanium, copper-nickel, stainless and carbon steel all supported.
